Vignanam is a collection of traditional and devotional Hindu texts — stotras, slokas, ashtakams, sahasranamas and vratas — presented in Indian regional languages with meanings for the Sanskrit.
Its distinguishing feature is the language coverage. Most scripture apps offer Sanskrit with Hindi or English; this one carries Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya and others, in each case rendering the Sanskrit in that script. For a reader who recites in Sanskrit but reads comfortably only in their own script, that is the difference between a usable text and an unusable one.
The material is oriented toward daily practice rather than study — the texts recited at home, at festivals and during specific observances — which is a different need from the Vedic corpus and is served by a different kind of app.
Meanings are given for the Sanskrit slokas, so a reciter can follow what is being said rather than only how it sounds.
